I have a pair of COnverse-style (but not real) boots, and I just sling them in the washing machine when they're looking particularly bad, tumble dry them and hey presto!

They come out a treat (but this only applies if they're made of fabric). They bang about a fair bit, but they don't damage the machine as long as you remember to take the laces out. The banging can be minimised by putting them in a laundry bag in the machine.

Don't have the tumble dryer temperature up too high, or else they might shrink.

i wouldnt put them in the washer

what i'd do is fill up a sink with warm water and some soap

and just let it soak and kind of rub it so the dirt does away

and mabe use and old tooth brush and scub it a little

then rinse it and afterwards

put some paper towels in it to soak up the water

For converse shoes I would put them in the washer just because you can't ruin the fabric nor shape of the shoe. They look brand new when they are dry!

Shoe Magic - you can buy it in kiosks at the mall or online, it is really good on all shoes but works great on canvas (like chucks)

i have converses too, and i bought a special eraser from the shoe store i got my shoes from. the eraser crumbles as you use it, so it doesn't damage your shoe in any way.
