The length is 7.5 x 2= 15 cm (cause its a rectangle).
Then you would minus 38 by 15 to equal 23 cm.
Then since we have already determined the first two sides, we would divide 24 cm by 2 to equal 11.5 cm.
The width is 11.5 cm.
More help:
Side 1 and 2 are 7.5 cm each, so that equals 15 cm.
Side 3 and 4 have to equal (together) 23 cm, so they are each 11.5 cm.
Length is 7.5 cm and width is 11.5 cm.
Perimeter= L (x 2) + W (x 2)

Here is the formula for the perimeter of a rectangle
P = 2L + 2W
Subsitute what we know
38 = 2*7.5 + 2W
38=15 + 2W
2W = 23
W = 11.5
Check this by subsituting into original formula
38 = 11.5 + 11.5 + 7.5 + 7.5
38 = 23 + 15
38 = 38
This checks!

there are 2 lengths and 2 widths...so:
7.5 x 2 = 15
38 - 15 = 23
the 23 is the two widths so divide 23 by 2
so the width = 11.5

That doesn't make sense. The width is longer than the length which means the length is actually a width and the width a length of 11.5cm. Or am I getting confused?

The width is 11,5 cm long.
11,5 * 2= 23
7,5 * 2= 15
If the perimetre is 38 then 38 - ( 7.5 + 7.5)= 23 / 2= 11.5
