A molecule is more than one atom. For example, if you're dealing with Carbon dioxide, one molecule would be CO2. If you're dealing with just oxygen, one molecule could be O2. A molecule is generally thought of as being bigger than an atom, but an atom CAN be bigger than a molecule. For example, you can have one atom of Francium, which is just a big atom. If you're comparing it to that molecule of Oxygen, then the atom would be bigger.

An atom is the smallest part of an element that can be. A molecule is a combination of at least two atoms. A molecule is the smallest part of a compound that there can be. The smallest, simplest atom is hydrogen. The smallest molecule has to be a molecule of hydrogen, H2. Therefore, the H2 molecule is bigger than a hydrogen atom and so that molecule is bigger.

An atom is the smallest portion of an element. Hydrogen is the smallest atom and consists of one proton and one electron.

Molecules are combinations of atoms. Some examples are H2O or water. It is made of 2 atoms of Hydrogen and one atom of Oxygen. O2 is also a molecule consisting of two atoms of Oxygen.

As far as which is larger, there can be molecules (made of smaller mass atoms) which are smaller than some of the largest atoms.

Basic stuff!
an atom is the smallest particle of a chemical element that retains its chemical properties and a molecule is a combination of two or more atoms! of course molecule is bigger!

A molecule is bigger. So in a molecule, the electrons are shared which is oftened referred to as a chemcial bond. Waters chemcial formula is h20 That refers to 1 atom of oxygen sharing its electrons with 2 atoms of hydrogen.

Molecule is composed of atoms, making it therefore bigger than an atom.
