When are u going? You can always check with US Customs for up to date info. Right now, driving across the border is OK, with just ID --- but flying requires a passport.

I'am looking for the same answer . I heard that if you fly you will need the passport starting this year.. I'am coming in to canada for a fishing trip this year so i hope someone can answer us. Sorry I could not help you more

Technically after Jan 23 you will need a passport. Although, if you have one you should bring it even if your go before then.

as of January 2007 you WILL need a passport to enter the USA ....

I think due to 9/11 they have recently changed the open border type policy--you better check ---I am pretty sure you need something....
