I make my own personally it is cheaper and healthier but it is also time consuming. I would say that if i were going to use baby food i would use gerber.

Which ever you want, my son prefers some of the gerber flavors over beechnut, and vice versa. Also, I like the jars beechnut comes in as opposed to the plastic containers gerber has, if you want to save any leftovers in the gerber containers, the leek if they are tipped over and had been opened.

Well I'm going to say Beechnut! I have used Heinz and Gerber with my son and the Beechnut ones seem to have more flavor. Once I tried the Beechnut with him, he wouldn't eat a lot of the other ones from Heinz and Gerber. I would try them yourself and see which seems to taste less watery. I found Heinz to taste the most bland. Good luck!

My little one liked both equally well and both seemed nutritionally sound. I actually bought her both based on flavors available. She loved Beechnut's diced turkey but hated Gerber's diced turkey. She hated Beechnut's carrots but loved Gerber's carrots. Also, many times Beechnut costs less so I would pick up extra items. I lean more towards Gerber but primarily because it is more readily available for purchase in my area.

For the most part, they are all the same. Read the labels and compare the ingredients. Look for one that doesn't have a lot of starches and fillers. Just a couple of ingredients is best.....the food that you're buying (say bananas) and maybe water or something to thin it.

Better yet.....make your own and you'll know it's fresh and what all the ingredients are. It's much cheaper than buying jarred food too.

It's been a long time since I've bought any babyfood, but when I did I usually prefered BeechNut.

i think healthy-wise, they're both pretty similar, but my guy HATES beechnut, and loves gerber, so i stay clear of beechnut. try them out, see what your little one likes best and go with it
