Currently, i'm at uwm working towards a biological science major. my dream is to go to the rainforest and study animals, but in order to have specifically animal behavior as my major i'd have to get my masters. is there a school or a program that i could attend to in which i could reach my goal faster? any suggestions would really help!

Ok great start at UWM with a BS in Biology. Do you have specific kind of animal you are interested in? you mentioned behavior and studying animal behavior, are you interested in the behavior of animals and what can be done to intervene and change the behavior of animals or you would like to study ethology and behavioral analysis? or would behavioral ecology be more your interest?

if you want the have the opportunity to get into a program that allows you become a rainforest scientist and study animals in rainforest to help conserve them you might want to read up on a few academic associations and you might want to consider going to graduate school in a place that has rainforests and a program that would support it.

off the top of my head I would suggest you try checking out the society for conservation biology as a academic group. research group that I have worked with and recommend are the wildlife conservation society, the nature conservancy, world wide fund for nature. As for programs and schools, Hunter College has a behavioral conservation Master program and the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil has a great rainforest program. The Max Planck Institutute has great programs in Africa working in rainforests and University of Singapore and Hong Kong univeristy are great. Univeristy of Queensland and James Cook Univeristy have great behavior and ecology programs.

If you are looking for a fast degree(2-3 years) then consider University of Edinburgh for their world reknown behavior program.

There are degrees in zoology and wildlife biology that might enable you to work in wildlife research as a technician with a B.S. degree. However, nearly all research requires either a Master's or PhD.

Do a web search on: 'wildlife biology' 'university' 'degree' 'zoology' 'behavioral ecology' - and see what schools pop up.

You might also search for schools that have internships or study abroad programs in the rainforest.
