I have heard so many conflicting stories I don't know what to believe ,surely there is some information out there that explains and answers my question, as it is hard for me to believe the southern people who seem to be so kind hearted would form a group or even stand for such a group to be formed, unless we have been fed a good dose of propaganda, surely there was a viable reason for them other than to harress blacks, exactly what was their goals??

how strange it is to read a mans autobiography and then read some thing supposedly historically, and there be so many differences in their interpretations,
I read Nathan Bedford Forrest auto, and this is his side, of the story.
After the civil war the southern white people were disenfranchised meaning they could not hold public office nor even vote, in any election, the northern carpet baggers and scalawags? elected former slaves as congressmen,Senators, Judges, etc, they passed laws and legislation that was against the whites so they could confiscate their land homes etc, and the blacks were financed by northern carpet baggers to buy the land for pennies, the laws were so that whites had no rights period, the penalty for a black raping a white woman was 24 hours in jail, etc, the southerns had no weapons to fight with ( as South Africa is today it was illegal for a white man to own a gun)
the whites decided they could not live this way , they went to Lee asking for the civil war to be resurrected, Lee declined as he said he had given his Solomon oath against this, But he suggested Nathan Bedford Forrest who was a Gen, in the Confederacy, he agreed, so the men put sheets over their horses, and themselves,
they rode into a armory in S,C in the dark the blacks guarding the armory ran away thinking they were ghost;
they took all of the wepons from this fort and started raiding other forts as far north as Pa, and Ind. Lincoln had been assinated and Pres Johnson was being impeached because he was a southerner from Tn, a Senator from Mass, named stevens said if he was elected he would give every black 40 acres and a mule,
Gen, Grant, decided he would run and if elected he would restore white rights in the south, the country saw there was going to be another civil war that they did not want, they elected Grant,
Gen, Grant met with Gen, Forrest and they agreed that if white rights were reinstated and union forces were pulled out of the south Forrest would disband the Klan, Pres, Grant did as promised, the Klan hung ,killed or ran out of the country all of the carpet baggers and northern scum who had made life so miserable for the whites, and the blacks out of office and no black ever held office in the south again until the 1960s
the book written by Pres, woodroe Wilson says pretty much says the same thing,, I guess you can believe whice version you prefer, will we ever know for sure?

Of all the stories I have heard and rumors that abound.
This is as close as you are going to get to the truth as hazy as it may seem.

Before the Civil War there were many malto (black and white) children being born as matter of record. After the Civil War that number drop to zero. Something happen.

Please remember there were the rich white land owners who were the generals during the war. Now they came back and found that poor whites and poor blacks were on the same playing field.

So General Forest came up with an idea to consider the whites better than the blacks so the poor whites and blacks now can be divided and easier to control. Thus the KKK the ghost of the Conferate Army was born.

Not a race thing but a class thing. It carried on from there.

People will use any excuse to think they are superior to someone else when they are in trouble.

That is my take but I am sure there are others you can take it or leave it.

The Republican and Democratic events got here mutually after the Civil war and all started it to place down the blacks who have been beginning to upward push to capability. The blacks interior the overdue 1800's have been determining to purchase land and winning political places of work. The events wished to furnish each and every thing back to whites so as that they beginning murdering and raping the blacks and stealing the land the way it replaced into executed to the indians. The events did no longer desire to be pointed out, so as that they coated their heads with sheets and all started a gaggle of rituals below the Ku Klux Klan and created new cities the place blacks used to stay in the previous they have been murdered. The cities and the anybody continues to be there and maximum of them are the two Republican or Democratic right this moment.

The Ku Klux Klan was founded by Bedford Forrest and made up of Confederate Veterans to resist the reconstruction after the Civil War. It began as a fraternal organization but later used violence to get their views across. This is it in a nutshell but I attached a Wikipedia article so you can read in more detail.

I do know that KKK was founded by a man called Albert Pike. He was also considered the most evil grand commander of the Freemasons. He was a hedonistic Luciferian. After being kicked out of Arkansas for treason, he went to Tennessee. (He was inciting the Nat. Americans to riot against the treaties.) It was in Tenn., that Pike helped found the KKK. He was just a very evil man.
