If you are not much of a “nerd/geek” and study really brings you down perhaps a police officer or firefighter would fit the bill. Most police officers have college degrees or military backgrounds. Firefighters normally start out as “reserve firefighters” and then get hired on full time after some experience is under their belt. Those jobs won't be too dull most days. The National Guard also trains people to be firefighters which could give you a leg up. There’s a lot of competition for those jobs so plan it out and be aggressive. Those jobs won't make you rich but you won't be poor and they have very good benefits. Oh, one more thing the Army used to train helicopter pilots right out of high school if you have a very high ASVAB score, so you could look into that. They make you a "warrant officer" which is like a bridge between the enlisted ranks and regular line officer ranks. Get out the Army and work for the news flying copters.

What college will do is teach you about yourself. No need to make a hard fast decision yet. You will learn more about yourself in your first semester. Find things that interest you and don't be afraid of change. A great many of college students start out thinking they want to do one thing and go on to do something completely different.

As a college graduate I suggest that you learn how to put together a proper sentence. Spelling helps too. I know that you probably typed in a hurry, but do try to proof read your posts. Makes for a better impression. BTW money isn't the key to happiness. It will take time, no matter what you decide to do, to make big money.

My husband is a pilot and sometimes loves it and sometimes hates it. It's hard to pick a career based on salary, if you do you will most likely be unhappy in the long run. You have to choose to study something that you enjoy learning about. Worry about exactly what you will do later!

Video game designers make a lot of money and their not nerds. It's a form of art. Web design and web development is a great career path too.

You should do what makes you happy. When you are happy doing something, you will do it with pride, and stamina, people will see this and you know that word of mouth is the best advertisement. Know that you have needs and wants and in order to take care of those objections you must have a J-O-B. If you are worried about the MRS. or soon to be MRS. you should look for her in your desired field so she will understand as well

become a registered land surveyor. It's fun and you can make alot of money and there's always lots of work. You can work anywhere in the world while you're single and work locally when you have a family. You can even start your own business with just a few other employees.

First, you need to seriously consider what you enjoy. If you enjoy what you're doing, you have a better chance for success. Do you like working with people or by yourself? Inside or outdoors? With your hands or your mind? Travel or stay put?
What are your interests? What are your hobbies? I know of a number of people who have developed their own business tied to their hobby (i.e. collectibles, gardening, woodworking, computers, fishing, body building, cars, cooking, etc.).

A friend of mine made money doing professional scuba diving gigs all over the state of California. The assignments were varied. But talk about interesting! I'm not sure just how well it paid but he seemed to get by. Haven't seen him in a long time.
