Movie about a white woman in Africa??

Question

I had seen years ago (sometime in the 90s) a movie about a white woman going into Africa to do some researching. I clearly recall a scene where the woman ends up having sex with one of the African gentlemen and the woman was holding or hanging on to a tree while they were having sex and there was a bonfire in the background. I can not seem to locate this movie and wondering anyone knows what film I am talking about? And no, it was not a porno, it had to be rated R.

Do you remember if it was in English?

There is a film called Chocolat (not to be confused with the Johnny Depp film which isn't the same story). I believe it's early 90s and that kind of sounds like something from it, although I can't be certain. But it's a film that's mostly in French.

What about Gorillas in the Mist? I can't think of any other suggestions.

I never saw the film, but Kim Basinger was in a movie called "I Dreamed of Africa." Could this be it?

I did a search on imdb.com and nothing else came up in the 90s.

"Out of Africa" is my best bet.
