they will charge me extra for not rewinding it. They have the usual signs that say, "Be kind, Rewind", but they also have a warning that they will charge $2.00 if videos are not rewinded.

Well personally I just pay the 2 bucks. But rewinding a DVD is simple as pie. There are 2 ways to do this. The riskiest way is to simply hit the"REW SEARCH" or the "<
The second way (and easiest way) to do this is to simply open the disc drawer and spin it 1 clockwise rotation by hand while in the drawer per minuite of movie length (remember discs spin counter clockwise during play).

BUT BE CAREFUL if it is a HDDVD or a BlueRay there is an easier way. You put a little vaseline on your index finger and take the disc and put it on your finger and then spin it around and around and around for about 8 mins in a clockwise rotation, just like a Harlem Globetrotter. When you notice your fingertip is red you know the rewinding process is complete and you can safely return the disc worry free of any extra fees.

You might want to call your Video store for further directions.

You don't rewind a DVD. Just take it out of the machine when you're finished with it. The "be Kind, Rewind" is only meant for videos. A DVD will start at the beginning when it's put into a DVD player

you won't be able to rewind a DVD. it is better to assert that it rewinds itself, because each and each and every time you insert it to a DVD participant,it has to load the disc.with information from loading the disc that's "rewinded". So this isn't your problem, don't be afraid!
