Quite simply, get over it.

If you have talent, honey, don't be afraid to let the world know!

Just suck it up and SING! If you really want to perform, you'll figure out a way to get over being shy. Get in front of people and go for it. The best way to conquer your fear is to meet it head on. Don't worry; it will be tough the first few times, but it will get easier. And remember:"Pretty" is for people who can't sing loud.

i'm not trying to be a jerk, but seriously, do this: start singing to random people.

I never could sing before, but then I got involved in my school's musical and eventually sang at the local fair.

I would go to Walmart and ask people if they would like to hear me sing; and most people did.

This is how you build confidence singing. Whether the feedback is good/bad, keep working at it to build up your confidence.

Now I sing everywhere. I practically serenade all of my friends, family, teachers, etc. LOL. it's quite funny.

Just sing.

Most people really can't and appreciate someone who can.

Also, most people can't even tell if you make a mistake.
