My son threw up last night and I can't seem to get the smell out. I have already tried soaking it and then using the shop vac to suck up the moisture and cleaning it with vinegar. It still smells like puke!! HELP!!!

febreeze works wonders on that sort of smell. when my eldest son was little, he did more than just blow chunks on the carpet. after two or three treatments (and i mean heavy treatments) the smell was gone.

Rent a carpet cleaner at Menard's, Lowe's, the grocery store, etc, and clean the spot. You will probably have to go over the spot several times. Might as well do the entire house while you have it - you'll be amazed at what you get out of your carpets.

The best and easiest way I have found (from experience) is this. Once you have the stain clean, let the area dry. Sprinkle a good amount of baking soda (just like the kind you buy to deodorize your refrigerator) over the area and let it set for a couple of hours, then vacum it up. It may take a couple of applications but it works. I tried febreeze before and it doesn't quite cut it.

You need a deodorizer with an active enzyme. Febreeze is only a masking agent, resolve has ruined many carpets and peices of upholstery.

We use a product called "Bottom Line" you can buy it by the gallon at jondon.com You will eventually use the whole gallon.

I have come across an amazing product that is all natural with no harsh chemicals. It is called ecoH and it comes from Ecoquest. You just put it on the stain or smell and let it sit. In about two days it will literally neutralize the stain and the odor. We have used it on our newborns clothes when there is an accident and the stain just vanishes. It is truely amazing.

Buy some Resolve foaming carpet cleaner. Spray it on the puke spot and it should get rid of the stain (if you have one) and the smell. I use Resolve alot at work and it works pretty well for me. Febreze works well also. It should be at your local Target/Wal-mart etc.
