Unfortunately, depression is almost a 'way of life' in today's sick, violent society.
Life is treated as virtually worthless. People kill and shoot one another and babies are murdered through abortion and women and children are rape and abused as if no more than a piece of meat.
So no wonder depression is such a problem today.
But who offers a real hope to the problems of the world and promises to wipe out wickedness? Therein your opportunity lies.
Jehovah God's heart is very saddened by theactions of mankind.
Read 1 John 5:19-21.
19 We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one. 20 But we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us intellectual capacity that we may gain the knowledge of the true one. And we are in union with the true one, by means of his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and life everlasting. 21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.
So the world does not lie in God's power, it lies in the Wicked One's power. The Wicked One of course being the devil. Why? Because manknd DEMANDS it!
So if you want to try and cheer your friend up, give him the truth. The answers of this world are bandaid solutions. The answers God offers are everlasting.
