You know those small yellow roadsigns you sometimes see (mostly next to the motorway), with maybe a hollow black circle or triangle inside? Well I never knew what they meant. Are they for lorry drivers, or agricultural vehicles, or what?
Please help me settle my curiosity.

There are loads in Sheffield. Basically, it will say underneath the first one something (for example) along the lines of, "For town Hall, follow (insert shape of choice)". So, if you needed the town hall, you would follow all the signs with that shape on. They're direcion indicators. The first one should tell you which shape is for where.

I think they have different signs for different destinations.Once you know which one to take, you can easily follow it by looking for your symbol, rather than taking your eyes off the road for a longer time while you try to read the various destinations on the follwing signs.

Diversion routes - ie your bridge is closed follow the diamond route or circle etc - it's just to prevent you picking up the wrong diversion half way

these are for pre signed Diversions, very often to get you between junctions on major routes

im not quite sure what sign you are talking about but i do know that a yellow sign usually means "take caution"
