Personally I feel Jennifer Hudson really did her thang, for a rookie. I mean when she sang "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" I was literally in the movie theater crying. I really feels this is her MAJOR break. What she did on American Idol was great, but what she did in Dreamgirls was hands down. Jennifer Hudson could have been the only person in this movie, and rock it, and that I know and believe.

Jennifer Hudson, nailed it in Dreamgirls. For her first role she did an amazing job because her voice is powerful and strong and she has a great screen presence. She was definitely the star of this movie because she made her character believable and realistic. Beyonce was okay, but not that great. She just looks nice. I think everyone want to hype Beyonce up because she is pretty and the bigger star but she really doesn't have a magnetism on the big screen. Beyonce should really stick to smaller roles, however her song "Listen" is really good, but she doesn't deserve to be nominated as Best Actress for this role.

I think that Jenniffer Hudson placed her first foosteps into superstardom with this film! For this to be her first acting role and to have to walk into the steps of the great Jenniffer Holiday is a major acievment of its own. Anyone who has ever seen the Original on Broadway will never forget Holidays performance and she will always be one of the great Broadway Divas. But Hudson took on this role not to copy Holiday but to play Effie in her own way and she did a Fantastic job! She has earned her own special place in the world of DREAMGIRLS and should win the Oscar. Beyonce, on the other hand also did a fine job. People seem to think that she only really shined on "Listen". But you must remember that in order to play the part of Deena she had to "tone down" her own performance. I think it is because of that that most people think Hudson outshined Beyonce. Though Jennifer Hudson will probably be the more rememerable performance you have to give Beyonce a thumbs up on her performance as well.

I like Beyonce and she is doing her thing. But, Jennifer Hudson blew her out of the water. For her to be new to the game she stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. She had the attitude and that voice just gives you chills. Beyonce knows Jennifer is riding her tail, that's why she screamed and strained when it was time for her to sing her song "Listen". "Listen" up B, Jennifer has arrived. :o)

Jennifer Hudon did a better job than Beyonce. I still can't get my mind around Beyonce acting. I can't believe she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress! She is still not that good to me. Jennifer seemed like a natural.

i adore Beyonce but i dont see her as a bigtime actress, but Jen Hudson she was the bomb, she's got the talent and the voice. so in this movie ONLY my answer would be Jennifer Hudson.

Jennifer. In acting and singng. This is Jennifer's first huge role and she outshined everyone. I'm so proud of her. She represents Chicago and make people believe that dreams really do come true.
