Can anyone give me an idea of a good gap year project I could look at. I want to leave the UK. Also i dont want to do anything with animals, as I am not to good with them... Any ideas...

well, if you don't want to just travel with your backpack...
then I'd suggest Operation Raleigh - I put a link below in my sources
Also, you could look into Earthwatch projects like archeological research, or their research projects all over the world?
Or a combination of the two?
Or you could spend 8 months on Operation Raleigh and an Earthwatch research project, then 3 or 4 months of backpacking and travel ...

My sister went to Sao Paulo in Brazil to work on projects with street children. She loved the work and said the experience was amazing. Its not for from Rio so can travel around. She also got sponsorship for this - not sure how but you can do research if interested
