They did not represent the people of the United States, took us into a war that is crippling and killing our young people on lies.
Healthcare was cut, jobs outsourced, environment neglected, education underfunded while they took very good care of themselves. Now let them pay the price.

Several reasons,
1) the repubs that lost their seats are for the most part liberal repubs.
2) The dems that took those seats are for the most part Conservatives of their party.
3) There were some bad repubs voted out that needed to go.
The republican controlled house and senate did accomplish more than the one 12 years ago and they did it during war and attacks on US soil so they did OK. I hope the change of power will shake up the government and move it in the right dirrection. I did not vote for the Dems but I also don't see this as the end of the world. Sometimes a good reality check is needed to motivate the politicians.

It's because the Republicans have failed to do anything good...the people in this country are tired of listening them saying they'll do things and not seeing any results. People want a change.

R's came into power by promising to reduce government spending, reduce government power over people's lives, etc. Once in power they did the same things they had accused the D's of doing: using government money to reward people who'd donated to their campaigns, using government money to buy votes in their districts, etc., which resulted in a huge growth in government spending. D's won the last election not because lots of people love what they're peddling, but because strong supporters of what R's promise realize that the R's aren't delivering.
Since most people ignore Libertarian candidates, they believed the choice was between a group who promises to shrink government but doesn't and a group who promises to grow the government.

First, why ask a question and then answer it, incorrectly?
Because the Dems are in control of the Senate and Congress...so they gang up....
