* She should go to the doctor. That would be the best thing to tell her.

Any kind of spotting when you find out your pregnant needs to be checked out. I had a misscariage during my first pregnancy. It happend to be over Christmas so the doctors office was closed for the next few days. I bled for 3 days and had an ultrasound the following monday only to find out my baby didn't have a heart beat. I was 1 week away from being through my first trimester. No matter how far along your friend is it is very difficult to deal with a miscarriage. I have heard that some people will acutally have a normal peroid while they are pregnant. She needs to see a doctor to determine what has happend.

Okay, here's the deal with o.t.c. pregnancy tests.. they can give both false positives and false negatives. Missing a period does not automatically indicate pregnancy. There are other factors which can impact on the menstruation cycle. If she is worried, the best advice to give her, is to visit her gynocolgist. The doctor will conduct a physical exam and then determine whether or not there is a need for additional testing.

Just be a good friend and listen to her. Let her do most of the talking. You should be there just for support and let her know that if there's anything she wants to talk about, that you're willing to listen.

Don't try to get her to do something else to "take it off her mind" because she may resent it. She may feel as though this isn't important to you and that you just want to do what you want to do anyway.

Also, don't tell her that you understand how she feels unless you've had a miscarriage too. There isn't any magic combination of words that will make this go away. She just needs time to cope with this. With a good friend, it will be comforting that she won't have to do it alone.

It's a fact that women have miscarriages quite often. Sometimes a woman will have one and not even know it. It's possible that she did miscarriage but tell her not to worry. Most miscarriages (if not all) are cause by some abnormality in the fetus. It just couldn't live for some reason. It's OK. No worries.

It kinda sounds like a miscarriage but if that's the case she needs to be seen by a OBGYN immediately because when a female miscarried there is a chance that her body did not expel all of the embroy and can cause problems. Good luck

sometimes pregnant women have blook coming out in big quantities during the first 3 months, is not a period, is heavy but not too often... like they can discharge this only once in one day and then not do it for a couple of more days... i will tell you though to advice your friend to go to an ob gyn or somewhere else... how far is she in her pregnancy? like a month or so maybe? she must go to a doctor and get a proper checkup.

She may have had a miscarriage but she may still be pregnant. I had similar symptoms when I was pregnant with my first. I just thought it was my period. I was a teenager and my periods were irregular to begin with so didn't really pay much attention to it. 3 months later i was pregnant. So she needs to see a Dr to confirm that she is still pregnant.

There's no way to know for sure. It could've been a very early miscarriage or the test could have said she was pregnant when she was not.
