Try this link for WIC and find your local branch. There is an income requirement. Check it out and see if you qualify. You should also contact your local Dept. Of Social Services for goverment aid.

Make an appointment at your local Health and Human Resources Dept...make sure you take the doctor's order confirming you are pregnant, any and all income documents, rental receipts, etc. You will need all these to determine if you are eligible. Also contact your local health clinic and ask about the State WIC program to help assist with food and nutrition. Are you married? If not DHHR may refer you to Child Advocate office for Paternity testing to seek child support. If you have health insurance, is it through work? Start checking now with both insurance and employer as to policy's for time off, maternity leave, etc. You are better off to get as much taken care of in the beginning of pregnancy as possible, rather than have it hit you later down the road. Remember this is just a beginning for you, not the only road you have to travel. Unfortunately some people may say cruel things about going on "state help" but if the program was not needed it would not be there., don't let anyone get you down.

Get an abortion if you cant afford to feed the baby inside you. Or if you dont believe in abortion, then set yourself up with some adoptive parents who will feed you during your pregnancy. Its not the governments job to help you bring a child into the world that you can not feed. There are already families who are struggling to make ends meet who need that money more than you do.

If your low income he may qualify for medicaid for you and the baby. Even though you have health insurance medicaid will cover what your insurance doesn't. If your low income you can also apply for food stamps. You do this by contacting the Department of Human Services in your area. Also, there is a program called WIC. They give you vouchers for milk, cheese, cereal, eggs and beans while you are pregnant. Once you have had the baby WIC will also along with the other things give you vouchers for formula which helps tremendously. The Department of Human Services will be able to get you in contact with the WIC program in your area. I hope this helps.

In this state, as long as your in a profession where you can work up to the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy you take a maternity leave and when the child is 6 weeks you find a sitter or daycare and you return to work. Government Aid should be terminated altogether. It was not originally intended for girls to have babies and live off tax payers. At 7 weeks this was the furthest thought from my mind, where to get help for food...I worked.

Check with the local health department. They can tell you if you qualify for food and be sure and take the baby after it's born because you will probably be able to get food for it also until it's 5 years old depending on your income.

If you have health insurance through your employer you can put the child on your policy it's that simple. Where is the father and why can't he buy the food instead of forcing the taxpayer to pay for you and your offspring to live? How about your parents?

Go to the Health Dept. in your county and apply for WIC. This program will supply you with nutritious food for you while you are pregnant and after the baby is born it will supply the formula and other nutritious stuff until your child is 5 years old (in most states).

If you have health insurance I'm assuming you have a job. And if you have a job and benefits I'd be really surprised if you can get government assistance.

Go to your local dfacs office and fill out papers for emergency help...I myself have to have dfacs due to issues out of my control.Be warned,it will take you a few months to get past paper work and interviews but,you will be happy that you did.It was hard to humble myself and ask for state help but,it has made my life easier..If you have any questions,I will do my best to get some answers for you seeing as I have some personal experience...E mail me....Take care....
