I have a few acquaintences that are gay. I have always wondered if a true gay relationship that has lasted a lifetime has any sense of remorse if the couple never raises a child. Being a Dad is a very fulfilling role - do gay men miss that opportunity?

I suspect that some do but there are a lot of gay fathers out there. A lot of them had kids when they were still searching for their identity, while others have adopted after being "out". There are a lot of places today that allow gay men to adopt boys or girls as long as they can provide a loving and safe home environment.

Hello? I have two testicles, I could have a child anytime I want. I don't want to by CHOICE (I'm only 45).
I have 16 neices and nephews grown up (all above the age of 25). I have 19 great-neices and nephews, the youngest 5 days and the oldest will be 8 this coming July and I babysit all the time, NO, I do NOT miss having children, I DON'T HAVE TIME.
Besides bringing a child into the world, just to "have some part of you" out there is selfish. I'd rather help someone else fulfill their duty and do it proper and give a child more than what they would have gotten materially from just one set of parents.

The longest lasting relationship in my families immediate history is between my second cousin and his partner of nearly 50 years. They were together in years where you really, really could put yourself in harms way just for being in love. I only met this cousin and his mate when my grandma passed away in 1999, but they are the most loving and connected people you'd ever want to meet. They are both in their 70's now, and I can tell that they did miss being actual parents, though they both volunteered at thier church youth choirs. People just don't understand that being gay doesn't make you a child molester. Most gay couples that raise children, the kids are straight, not gay. If you are lucky enough to simply have a parent who loves you and wants the best for you, sexuality doesn't play any part of that.

Some gay men adopt. Some find surrogate mothers. If anyone's seriously missing it that much, there are ways to raise children. That said, I personally will probably not, and will probably not miss it much.

I've known gay men to adopt. And some have sons from previous failed marriages. So, being a father is an option.

Yes.I think gay men also miss having children.I am so glad for adpotion rights these days,are getting more liberal.I as a gay man love my nieces and nephews,there children,and kids in my life.Children are our future.Treat the well.I also have a cat and dog,there like my kids.lol.Well they need nurturing too.
