I started shaving my legs on my own at 12 with my mom's razor. I cut my shin.

I told her after wards. She wasn't mad. She just gave me some tips on how to shave my legs better so as not to cut myself. She was actually happy I started doing it by myself and her "little girl" was growing up.

My mom had a fit when she found out....that was 35 years ago. I still don't understand it! I just shaved on my own and I remember I was really scared because in my family, for some reason, I needed permission. Looking back on it, I now know she wanted me to stay a little girl for as long as possible, just didn't want me to grow up. If your mom says anything to you, just tell her you felt it was time for you to shave because you didn't want to be the only girl not shaving at 13 years old. If she has a fit, she'll just have to deal with it. Good luck sweetheart!

I'm just assuming you're a girl, and if not...thats not right to be doing that....girls should start shaving around that age, maybe even younger depending on how much hair you have. Tell your mom that you want to start shaving and that you can do it on your own. If she says no, then don't ever do it again, if she says yes then good luck

Hiya, I'm 25 and I remember doing the exact same thing when I was younger than you (maybe 10). I think I was just embarrassed about telling her - I didn't think she'd be mad, but I didn't want to talk to her about it. I ended up kind of blurting it out to her maybe a year later. Out of the blue, I was like, "I shave my legs ya know". She was very suprised but not upset or anything. It depends on the mom - some are more conservative than others.

umm... sweetie, you should have just asked your mom about it. You are young but this is a common age to begin shaving in my opinion. You should definitely get your own razor because you never know how many nicks and cuts your mother gets and her skin and blood could possibly trapped in the razor and when you go back and forth using the same razor, you could get her sick or yourself sick. good luck.

wats the big deal of you shaving? its your body and its not like youre causing anything dangerous to happen by shaving (a little cut doesnt count.) go ahead if you want to. no my mom has never found out and if she did she wouldnt care.

My mom never "told me to." I asked so I never needed to steal anything. [not that I would have anyways.] But, maybe it would be wisest for you to ask if you can start shaving. Give your mom a bit of grace; she probably forgot, or thinks you'll ask when you're ready. That's the assumption I'd make.
