You have to stop thinking about him, you have to think about yourself and think about what you want to do. Make improvments to your life, pick up new hobbies, set goals for yourself, get a job you want and go out and meet new people. Once you start focusing on making your life all about you, you'll get over him and be more desirable to the opposite sex. It wouldn't hurt to buy a book to get over him but honestly, after six years, please stop thinking about him, you're depriving yourself and the soul mate you have yet to meet, of a happy, exciting you.

Get out more often and try to meet people. By developing relationships with others, particularly men, your hurt will fade.
