I JUST GOT AN UPDATED VERSION I THINK 11 I LIKE 9 BETTER I GO THAT ON MY LAPTOP but how do i make mp3s of my songs.

Download a conversion program. Just search google for "mp3 conversion".

You CAN rip songs as mp3s on WMP 11. I don't know what these other people are talking about.
Just open up WMP 11, go to Tools > Options > "Rip Music" tab (If you don't see the "Tools" menu either do a Ctrl+M to turn on the classic Windows menu at the top (i.e. File, Edit, View, Tools, Help, etc). Or you can go to the very top of the screen, right click, and you'll see those same options in a drop down menu.
Anyways, once you get there, under the Rip Music tab you'll see a "Rip Settings" box. In it you'll see "Format" and underneath that a drop down box. Click the drop-down arrow and select "mp3". Make sure you apply your settings. Next time you rip songs, they'll automatically be ripped in mp3 format.
