you also might want to try www.freecycle.org and see if there is a group in your area - for items....
for car seats - always buy them brand new - for safety reasons, there are so many folks these days that just are not honest about things -
be sure to have your mother register at WIC (women, infant, child) for help with food for her while she is still pregnant and formula once the child is born - if she qualifies - its a huge financial relief when you can save that money on the formula alone....
