Do it gradually when she is crying for her dummy give her somethign else she can suck on like a popsicle...that will make her forget her dummy for a while or use the method often which is that when she cries for her dummy distract her rock her anything give her somethign else to bite or suck on and then just graudally wean her off her dummy in the next few weeks by only giving it to her if all else fails.

You can take it away from her now, but you should replace it with a different "lovey" like a blanket or an age appropriate stuffed animal. She will transition easier that way. But it could be a struggle, be prepared for lots of tears. Good luck!

dip it in a food she doesn't like if you are really concern about it otherwise, let her be until she is walking and running...and then give her a sippy cup.

OR replace it with a lolly (sugar-free)...offer her a choice and she will feel like a big girl
