I need advise on how to help this and I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem....

I am 17 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child... I've been having braxton hicks for the past 2 weeks. My doc said to stop doing so much, however I really don't. My hubby has been an excellent help, that he does most the chores, and leaves me with the light cleaning. (Our house is always clean anyways, so he don't have to do to much.) I was thinking about doing more instead seeing as how taking it easy didn't stop them from starting. With my first pregnancy EVERYTHING was diffenrent.. I didn't even get braxton hicks with my son until around 8 months, but yes I am sure that is what it is.. I do know what it feels like... So, ????? # 1. What should I do from here?? So I be more active.. I am not lazy, but I have slowed down a lot compared to before. The next issue I am having.. I will have to continue in order to fit it in.

My hips are the next problem.. They keep popping out of place, and it hurts so bad.. They pop out and then right back in.. It usually happens when I am up walking.. I can feel a pop, and then I can barely walk anymore.. I have gone to the chiropractor for this but they have done all that they really can... I am pretty sure this comes from a previous wreck I had about 6 months ago. My hips were dislocated. However, after going to the chiropractor for 4 months, they finally healed.. Or so I thought... and up until now they haven't bothered me... Has anyone else had either of these issue??? What did you do if so??? If not, couls anyone give me any ideas on how to help or relived these issues???? I do not want to end up on bed rest, that is really not an option for me.. I have a 2 year old son who is pretty demanding, and everyone I know works all day... Thanks to everyone for your answers!!!

1 more thing... I get braxton hicks contractions about 3-5 times a day... at least, and it does actually hurt, and my lower abdomen aches all day.. (which I am sure is from my uterus streching, but it hurts still the same!!)

I would have to side with the doctor and say to take it easy. I understand what you're saying about what's the point since it doesn't seem to be helping, but if you start doing more and the braxton hicks get even worse, you will end up on bedrest for the health of your baby. And if you don't listen at home, you will be doing your bedrest in the hospital! I was in the hospital for 2 weeks before they sent me back home. 17 weeks is early - the baby would have to be 24 weeks to even have a slight chance of survival outside the womb. And the longer he/she stays in, the better. You can do exercises while sitting or laying down, like leg and arm lifts, so you don't start feeling stiff, and you can take up a new hobby (I embroydered a huge design on a blanket while I was on bedrest). It is hard to stay resting while you have a 2 year old. I also had a 2 year old and was pregnant with twins. It's not easy, but sitting on the couch is a greta time for reading, coloring, and arts and crafts with your child.

For the hips, you may want to look into a belly belt or sling. It helps lift your belly and keeps the weight off your pelvis area. It may help the hips, although what's probably happening is that when you're pregnant, your body makes a lot of a hormone called relaxin, which helps to relax the muscles and joints so they'll be able open easier during childbirth. This affects ALL muscle and joints in the body, not just in the pelvis area.

To first poster, oh yeah in view that men are not able to lie approximately the condom breaking correct? Or you did not recognize till AFTER the seventy two hours in view that a gap in a condom is so handy to identify. Stop being so ignorant. Accidents DO occur, and folks like you're the intent women do not know something in view that they're informed matters like that. I do not know approximately my group however I do recognize the US has the maximum teenager being pregnant price on the earth correct now. I blame it on incorrect information, loss of correct schooling and devout fans that refuse females their delivery manage like in my state.

To answer your second question about your hips... I was in a car accident when I was about 14 years old, I'm now 21 and my hips ALWAYS crack and pop when I get up from sitting a while or whatever. It freaks me out a bit, and the thing is... My pubic bone and pelvic bone were both fractured in the accident, and they didn't catch the fractures until 6 months later! It hurt so bad. And they also told me, because of that, I can never have children naturally. I would have to have a c-section every time. Because when you're in labor, the bones and all of that in there expand and all with the contractions, that if I try to deliver naturally, my bones would break and it would kill me instantly. So, I would talk to your doctor about that. Sorry I'm not a whole lot of help. The best to you. God Bless.
