Why can't they wait to give out the Heisman until after the bowl games? Why are they in a hurry? The bowl games are the biggest games of the year and that's when big players are made. Last year Vince Young would have gotten it and this year Troy Smith would not have gotten it. Smith was absolutely terrible and should hand the trophy back. I know you OSU fans will say that he only had one good game. I agree, but how many great games did he have? I didn't see any. He did ok against all those average game, but that's about it. He did not know what to do without Ginn and Gonzalez having a big impact. Therefore he is clearly not the best college player, and I think he really hurt his draft status last night. If he gets lucky he will be the 4th QB chosen in the draft.

Sorry, I meant to say he only had one bad game.

@abyamcha
Don't the bowl games include the season's work? The MVP is for the respective games.

My husband says the same thing... he spent alot of the game last night pointing out how the guy who got it recieved the award due to having talent but also had hard life growing up so that made him the better story.

Einstein, you're a ******* fool. This award might desire to get carry of to the wonderful and maximum respected participant. for sure, it is Brady Quinn. Smith became on a sturdy group, however the Heisman isn't a length of a set - that could be a length of person skills. verify out the stats whackjob. by technique of how, Wake woodland is ranked #15 and that they are in a BCS bowl. Boise State has not performed a ranked group the finished season too, yet i think you purely point out Notre Dame because of the fact which you're bias against them. don't have self assurance my argument - wait until draft day whilst experts get to evaluate skills - somewhat than irrational and bias assholes like your self.

truly no other player deserved it, maybe mike hart though I mean you saw how valuable he was to michigan I mean look at the rose bowl, bad game Michigan loss. plus he was the ONLY running back to have over 90 yards in every single one of his teams games (not even Darren Mcfadden). Plus for all you talkers who say that the big 10 sucks look at the teams in there who had 2 or fewer losses OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, all those teams finished in the top 10 so read em and weep. (Speaking reg. Season for Mike Hart besides Mich. gave up after the first half!)

(one little side note: Troy Smith would not have won the heisman if Adrian Peterson had not gotten injured)

The Heisman is for the season's work, they already have the bowl game MVP's so I don't see why not. But Smith did not have the best of stats this year.

I think the Heisman / New York Sports Club likes the traditional weekend they have it and are unlikely to change.

PLUS, the TV gods like to hype the winner's game even more.
