I actually like both for very different reasons. Cats are way more independent and care for themselves a little, while dogs are way more dependent on their human friends which makes them better companions. Cats are smaller and easier to move with while dogs are way more fun to play with and take places!! Cats are easier to leave at home and have a friend check ON them while a dog you have to have a friend stay with them. You see the point!! I love both cats and dogs but for very different reasons!

I happen to like both cats and dogs, cats its more of an earned respect a cat doesn't have to like you and has an heir about them as if they're to good at times with them you earn there respect and devotion. Sadly dogs people can treat like **** yet they still love them the majority of the dogs that have issues it is due to how they are raised but once you love a dog and cuddle with one and have a code of honor where you don't hurt them no matter how frustrated you always will have a devoted friend for life who will stand by you. If you prefer smaller animals or animals who aren't as much work then cats would be better since they're smaller and don't require being walked and exercised how ever if you want someone who wont let you down and who you can devote a lot of attention towards working with and training to be a good dog then a dog has all the love in the world. And not all cats end up being psycho =] good luck

In love cats and dogs equal. I have 2 cats because both me and my partner work 8 hours a day so cats can amuse themselves and dont need walking, it would be unfair on a dog to be left in the house for 8 hours a day. If i did not work i would have a dog.

I have a dog and two cats. I,ve always had cats but adopted a dog a year ago. I love him but give me cats any day. They seem to know when you need a little cuddle when you feel low, give me a house full of cats any day.

Dogs.. I know they say cats are cleaner but not when you have to clean their litter tray out twice a day..
Plus dogs make great friends.. sometimes a little too dependant but that can also be a good thing when you're feeling a bit down... you know you are truely loved with a dog.

I have both, and if you have a smallish dog with short hair, I think they are the least amount of work. My vet says that it is more responsible to keep my cats indoors for their own safety, and they require an enormous amount of work; hair everywhere, they climb all over everything, and the litterbox is such a pain! A sweet and calm housebroken dog with short hair is so much easier to care for.

Cats have been my priority for over 20 years now BUT I fell for a little Maltese and now I am so totally into dogs and can't believe it myself. Dogs give you unconditional love, cats come by and love on you when they feel like it.

Well, they are both different. They have different qualities. It depends on your personality and what you want out of a pet. I had a cat for a while. I like it. And I think I somewhat like cats. And the way the do Grrr. Hehe

I prefer dogs. Cats are better for people that live on their own and work as they don't need a lot. They look after their selves. Dogs need more human interaction and a dog will always welcome a hug.

I like having both - it's hilarious watching my collie watch the cat - she spends all day staring at our cat, who spends just as much time casually stretching out and trying to tap the dog! Who needs TV?
