which one do you prefer and why?
i always prefered cats until i got an evil psycho one. now im not too sure.

I prefer cats because they are more independent, and do their own thing, they are also much easier to look after because they pretty much do their own thing. I can understand why some people prefer dogs for exactly the same reason. Sorry to here you had a bad cat experience, it's rare to find a mean one but it does happen, as with any other animal it's often to do with the way they've been treated, especially when they are young (not that I'm suggesting you treated yours badly, I'm sure you didn't) Sometimes it's just the cat's personality.

Dogs every time. Tell a dog to sit and it does whereas my cat always tries to climb all over me especially when I'm on the computer

A dog is a mans/woman's best friend. I hate cats, they come into my garden and kill wild birds. I have had to stop putting bird food out because of damned cats, to me they are nothing but vermin. the owners who put them out in the morning to make a mess in other peoples gardens take no responsibility for their little darlings. Sorry to get so wound up.

Well if preference is based on the number you own cats win 3 to1
However the dog thinks he's a cat and the cats think they are dogs sooooo!!!!
Personally I think it depends on what you want with your pets, cats are independent but dogs are loyal.(but ever so slightly stupid) (mine is anyway)

i like both, depends what you want one for. dogs are great company and you can take them walkies and get licks and cuddles from them.
Cats are great for stress relief, stroking them, They are far more independent too .... but a cat owns you . you own the dog! I've had both and am getting a pup soon. So i guess I prefer dogs

I have 3 dogs and 3 cats honestly I think cats are more loving but dogs are more respecting. It all depends on what you like and not all cats are craxy so dont judge them all on just one

CATS!!!! I love how independent they are, like you can give them food and water and go on vacation. Dogs you have to find someone to take care of them like a kid. Plus cats are small so they can easily sit/nap with you. And they won't jump on you and get you all muddy! (The mud thing just happened to me with a neighbor's dog)

Dogs!!!
Dogs are loyal and just want to please. They always great you at the door.
Cats on the other hand don't give two hoots as long as you feed them, they claw and scratch, they tear things to shreds. Plus they make me sneeze and my eyes swell shut.
Oh, and yes cats do smell. I can smell them as soon as I walk into somebody's house where they live.

Personally i prefer dogs. I think dogs are more loyal and caring (obviously depending on what breed!) Labradors, cockier spaniel and golden retriever - brilliant dogs, good temperament

Dogs - keep you company and you don't need to worry about where they are! Cats are too much like teenagers.
