I am TTC so I stopped taking my birth control (Seasonale.. you only get your period every 3 months) the beginning of December. I had a regular period starting 12/11. Now just last Saturday (1/6) I started bleeding really heavy and really painful even though I wasn't expecting my period for a few days . Before I started BC I did get really bad cramps and heavy periods but not for 4 days straight, it usually tapers off. (2-3 years ago) It's been 4 days of heavy bleeding, passing clots, and cramps and I'm wondering if it's like this because it's my first full month off of birth control or a chemical pregnancy.. I don't know much about chemical pregnancies except it happens sometimes before a woman knows she's pregnant. I'm assuming this is happening from not taking BC but is it something to get checked out?

Clots and cramps are normal with periods. You shouldnt ever have clots bigger than a half dollar, thats a case for your doctor to look at.

Chemical pregnancies are when you get pregnant, and your body aborts the pregnancy about the same time you'd be due for a period. The only way to know it was a chemical pregnancy is because you get a positive pregnancy test one day, and negative a week or so later. Its called chemical because your hormones pick up, start to double, and then fade away since the zigote has been discarded, or become unviable.

When you come off birth control your period is generally diffrent for a while as your body finds it cycle and 'normal' zone again. You can develop cramps, clots, new PMS symptoms and all sorts of things at any time in your life. :)

Just keep trying for that baby, sex results in them. You'll be mom before you know it.

it really is more effective probably that your body is basically re-adjusting to coming off of hormonal contraceptive. yet after I got here off the pill in 2006 - i fell pregnant in the previous getting my first 'commonplace' era. it really is achieveable - in spite of the undeniable fact that the drs advise it really is more effective useful to grant your body 3-6months after BC in the previous falling pregnant. good success and that i desire you get the end result you pick x

maybe b/c the birth control or you could have possibly gotten pregnant and miscarried without knowing it. good luck with TTC.
