*snowball!*

Really, for me it's just memories...I don't remember things very well so I keep things to remind me sometimes. I just went through all my stuff over the weekend and realized that I don't have as much 'stuff' collected as I thought, so I'm pretty satisfied.

Some people have lived without things so when they get their hands on stuff, it's hard to let go. My sis and her husband are terrible packrats, and when he was a garbage man, he would bring home the craziest things, like broken X-Boxes and TV and things he thought he could "fix". They just ended up filling up a bedroom and all three kids were sharing a room because the rooms were getting filled with crap.

I saw a program this weekend and a woman was going through the death of her husband, and she kept all his possessions and couldn't let go of anything. She started to pull out his stuff and it was strewn all over the house, that the kids were suffering from her depression.

A previous answerer seems to be confusing Moral Relativism with amorality. Moral Relativists do believe that morality comes from a "moral truth", and that the perfect morality has not been revealed to us. Many people who bash moral relativism do it this way, by confusing it with amorality. Morality does exist in the animal world, so clearly it is not reserved for humans alone. People who doubt this simply do not know animals very well. Many kinds of animals (yes, especially mammals) will scold each other for being "bad". That is a basic sign of some innate morality. So while humans are the only ones who create specific moral codes to account for human flaws and their effect on society, humans did not invent morality. The basic need for following and enforcing a moral standard is something we are born with, just like many other animals.

holding on to the past, not moving towards the future. it's good to let go of things, it can hold you back in life.
