I am thinking of selling my used computer games, The Sims 2 and Sims Online, on Ebay but I believe the buyers will each need a new registration code in order to properly install and play the games on their own PCs. Is it possible to buy a new one? Or are the games meant to be installed and played on one computer only? How do I get a new code if it's even possible? I looked on the EA website but could not find anything about purchasing a new code.

Technically the game is licensed for one computer only. But the registration code that is with the software will work for multiple installs it just cant be registered again which means there may be no support available if something goes wrong. Hope this helps good luck.

It's true that once the game is registered with the original serial number, it cannot be product registered again with the same number. If you want to obtain a new one, you have to pay $10 to get a new one. However, if you are selling or giving away a used game, the buyer still needs the serial number in order to load the game onto their computer. Here are two helpful links for you:

One on serial number replacement from EA games, and another from ModtheSims2 regarding finding the serial number on your computer (which resides in your system's registry )

I advise against getting warez copies of the game like the second poster suggested. It's dishonest and if something happens you are pretty much screwed.

if you have not registered the game which when you fill out the form with your name and your info then you are fine to just give code to anybody with the game.
