The trick here is that each daughter has ONE brother, which means there is only 1 son. So six daughters and one son is 7 children

7*15 + 15 for Deborah + 18 for Steven = $138

mmm... trick question eh....depending on how you read the question there could be two answers...

answer 1.

there are six daughters and one son making ....7 x 15
Deborah 1 x 15
steven 1 x18 ( greedy guts )

weekly bill of 138 pounds

answer 2.

reading the question it states that each of the daughters HAD a brother in the past tense so they dont have one now

making

six daughters 6 x 15
deborah 1 x15
steven 1 x 18 ( still a greedy guts )

weekly bill of 123 pounds

The thing about this question you must remember if they each have a brother they all have the SAME brother.

So there is one mother = 15 dollars to find herself
1 father = 18 dollars to feed himself
6 daughters = 15 dollars to feed each kid(6 kids) = 90 dollars to feed all the daughters
1 son = 15 dollars to feed him

so the total is :
15
+18
+90
+15
-----
138 to feed the family a week

Steven and Deborah has 7 kids, 6 daughters and 1 son.
(Hopefully you caught that)

15*7+15+18= 35+33= 68
