Good economics question for research purposes.
Personally, imagining myself in downtown Tokyo in the metro during rush hour, I'd cough up 25 bucks (don't know the exchange rate in Yen) for 5 mins.

Then I'd allow myself to be pushed into one of the subway cars.

Peace

I would never be in a crowded place due to my being an introvert and living way out in the country... My silence is FREE whenever I want it.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh life is good !!

: )

Happy Tuesday !!

My house with 3 children and my husband is my crowded place. 5 minutes of silence is unheard of!! I dont think I could buy that at any price if I wanted to!

It is absurd to place a monetary value on silence.

It is everywhere if people would only take the time to listen carefully enough.

Then I leave. I am one person and they are many. Why ask them to change instead of fixing it myself?
