why is it had to find someone that will love you if your in the military and gone a lot can love find you?

44th Signal Battalion here. I was in Germany for two years and I know exactly what you're talking about. It's very hard to find true love while you're in the military and it doesn't help at all when you see how many marriages are falling apart because one or both in the relationship is cheating with some Captain or SFC they meet while there spouse was deployed to Iraq or Kuwait. While it looks like mission impossible to find a woman you can love and trust I am proof that it is possible. I found my finance while I was in Germany. She is perfect for me and I trust her with my life...something I would never say about the bastards I served with in 63rd or 44th. If you're looking for a few guidelines to follow that will help you then keep reading.

1. Stay away from soldiers. Most of the women in the military get ran through faster than ice cream through a man's colon. "Cast not your pearls to swine."
2. Stay away from local nationals that seem to friendly and willing to go home with you on the first night. They're just looking for a free ride back to America with you and will rob you blind or use you.
3. Look for women from South America or the Philippine. They're extremely sexy and know how to treat a man if you're lucky enough to get with one.
4. Don't run with a pack of soldiers on the weekends. Soldiers have a reputation of being wild and dangerous when out partying. I can't tell you the amount of women I spoke to that were scared to speak with me alone because they thought I was going to rape and kill them. It sounded silly to me at first...then I realized how often that actually happens...and by high ranking people!
5. Be genuine. Don't let other people's values change yours. There's a large amount of soldiers and soldier's families that believe the clothes you wear determine what kind of person you are. Those are the kind of people you really need to keep far away from because they are contagious. Watch these people closely from a distance and you will see how they're families fall apart. Learn from them as I did. Respect yourself and your wife. Do the right thing, even when your superiors tell you other wise.

Notice I didn't tell you not to look for her in a club. That's because I found mine in a club. Good women are every where. You just have to know how to pick them out. The shy women at the bar or in the back of the club. The women you meet in a store while you're shopping on the economy. They're every where. Hope that helped.

well, personally I don't think anything is wrong with someone in the military. As far as loving someone.......it should be very easy to love anyone. I have been divorced and I guess that makes me think alot about loving someone. I was in a relationship for 6 long years alone. Lots of abuse, no attention, etc.... Personally, If I could find someone to love me and give me the attention that I wanted....a long distant relationship wouldn't be a problem. especially since you would have to get to know that person first.

of course you can find love. but that kind of relationship is gonna need alot of trust and mutual understanding. there's gonna be quite a few long and lonely nights for the both of you. but if you love each other and understand that it is hard to plan/do things being in the military, you should eventually find a system that works for you. good luck.

It's not that it's hard most would find it difficult to handle. There are some who will stick by you no matter what. You have to have patience and not settle for anything.
