What's the point of living? We spend every single day of our lives being harrassed by people, things, and ourselves, so why do we put up with this? Why do people think life is worth living?

Myself, I hate life. I've always hated life. I've never had a good day here on the planet Earth. I hate this planet and I hate the people. Humans all lie and are evil. There is nothing good about this world and its people. What good is life any way?

I wake up everyday on this miserble planet and know that that day is going to be full of misery. I am never wrong. Not a good day has ever been had by me which makes me wonder what the hell is everyone talking about. I see that some people are afraid to die and I am floored by this sort of thinking. Who wouldn't want to die? Who wouldn't want to be free of all the evil and selfishness on this planet?

Don't even bother informing me that there are good people here on Earth. I don't believe it. The human race should be destroyed.

I went through a period of depression, and during this time my life was kind of in a rut. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life and I had no motivation. I also let the stupidity of others get me down, and this caused me to avoid getting too close to other people. I was basically sleepwalking through life.

When you reach the point that you don't care about life anymore, that is the perfect time to re-examine everything about your life, because at that point you don't have anything to lose. You need to figure out the type of person you want to be and the type of life you want to live (be realistic), and then visualize yourself in that situation. You really have to visualize it. This visualization will serve as your motivation and it will be something you can do when you have setbacks or when you are discouraged.

Things will not change overnight. You will have to take baby-steps. Just try to gradually improve yourself and your life with your daily choices. I've read some of your other questions, and if you have a problem with alcohol that will need to be one of your steps.

Also, it does appear that you are suffering from depression. Longterm depression does have a biological component and medication really can help.

Finally, do not let others determine your happiness. You can't control others, so why give them the power to control your emotions. Your happiness should be determined by you and whether or not you are living up to your ideals (like in your visualizations). I was able to find some purpose in my life and I am much happier now than I was then. Remember, you only get one shot on this planet. What do you have to lose?

In my opinion, life is the opportunity to live and experience and grow as an individual. It is the quest to experience all we can for the time we have on this planet. If you wake up everyday miserable, try to analyze what it is that is making you so. Life is very hard. Harder for some than others, but it is a chance, a gift, a way to become more knowledgeable, more compassionate, more creative, more caring. It is the human experience and the possibility of a spiritual awakening within yourself which is amazing. Don't give up on life. Try to find meaning and try to find peace. Although all humans are flawed, there a millions of wonderful and caring people. Don't focus on all the negatives. Try to gain a more positive perspective.

And my husband thinks I'm negative.... you're a piece of work.
Life isn't fun, it isn't fair. But it is yours so consider it your job. This means you have to get up every day, fulfill all your responsibilities, be as kind to people, animals, and this earth (your family and home) as you can be (I'm a little afraid of what your best might be, but I'm hoping you can find some compassion in your life).
There are good people on this earth - and they are outnumbered by the bad - so it's your job to find them.
I'm with you; I'm not afraid to die. But you have to live before you die. & suicide is a looser's way out. So until our lives are over, you & I just have to keep up with our end of the bargain.

I agree with you.

If you really hate everything around you, you could detatch yourself from everything. Get a new job, get new friends, or whatever.

If you're permenently on this mindset, then I guess the above suggestion is cliche and useless. Suicide's a thought. Even though it's controversial, it's your life. You can live it however you want. Best of luck.

You need an attitude adjustment. If you wake up thinking negatively and spend your entire life thinking negatively, then you can't expect any thing good to happen and if something good did happen for you, you wouldn't see the positive, but find something negative to say about it. It is called ATTITUDE
