The anatomy of the woman is variable eg. the sizes of the labia. and the curvature of the inside of the thighs. Most woman ,doing it standing, will wet themselves on the inside of the thighs. Sitting or squating 1.part the thighs from the labia and 2. allow the urine to flow down far from the legs.
Does that answer your question.

There is a practical reason for this. When they try to pee standing up, there is the chance that the pee will trickle down the legs and on the pants and/or underwear. If you have your period, peeing standing up will soil your clothes and even the restroom.
It is the same, when the man squats when peeing, especially if his penis is not aimed toward the bowl.
Anyway, there is a country where they have a restroom with a female urinal (I cannot recall the country) where the woman can pee standing up. All the woman has to do is unzip her pants or pull up her skirt, place a sterile disposable funnel under her vagina, aim for the urinal and pee into it. The urinal is similar to that found in the male restroom.

Most women don't sit on public toilets because it's unsanitary. I like to sit, since I have knee problems and can't squat, but I always line the seat with toilet paper first.

Maybe because they do not want to sit on the toilet? Especially if it's a public toilet?

Actually many camping stores sell this thing that you can put over your privates and it has a little hose so that you can pee standing up. It works magic!
I try not to use public restrooms at all.....and if I have to, I squat!
My friend used to carry that pee-cup thing around and would use it when not camping....She loved it.

No one wants to sit on a dirty toilet seat in many restrooms...so whatever is comfy for one is not comfy or a habit for another.....after all, you have to touch the seat even with a piece of paper to move it up too!!! If you really have to go...time is of essence too!!!!

never thought about it. but now that i do, i don't wanna put my feet on either side of the toilet because it tends to be really dirty and gross as opposed to standing in front and squating.

i think the hovering butt act works great in public rest rooms. its when you don't sit directly on the toilet seat, but your but hovers over the toilet seat like a space craft ready to land.

how can girls pee standing up with out geting piss every where?
if you stand up, you'll have to lean back so you dont miss, leaning back to far will make you loose balance and fall.
standing straight will make you piss in your pants. it's much easier for girls to just sit

Because they are too lazy. If they left the seat up, what would they be able to complain about to men?
