playing ff8 again, on disc 2, I've put a tonne of time into this game and the darn thing keeps freezing, grrrrrr. There is a few scratches on the disc, and I don't have the money to buy a cleaning kit right now. Any way I can get it to go?

no pledge either, I have heard toothpaste works any ideas?

Sometimes the PS2 freezes up because the fan stops working properly and it gets hot. This might be the case if it freezes on more than one game. If it is just the one game because of the scratches, regular car wax will work as good as a game fixer. Just rub it on in a cirular motion and remove the wax with a very soft cloth (no terry cloth) in the same circular motion. This will fill in the small scratches and should make it work better. Hope this helps.

yeah, i become having issues such as that with my previous ps2. it can make a damn noise and doesn't examine the disk, so I had to smack the right of it, which labored for a lengthy time period, in spite of the undeniable fact that it finally basically did not do some thing in any respect. you may basically get a sparkling one, or a used one in good condition.

for the disk, how about some clear-coat save car polish?

Also, is there dirt on or near the CD lens? Do you see a bunch of dust in the back where the fan is? If yes, vacuum the back?

Just take it to a GameStop or EBGames and ask them if they can "scrape" the disk. They'll do it. ; ) They're pretty nice about it.
