Hate it when people do things like that to themselves. Have had several people (guys and gals) tell me that they wish they had never gotten any parts pierced when they were young as they were embarassed by it later. Sounds like an infection to me. Call your doctor.

It sounds like you have an infection. Clean the area with mild antibacterial soap (like the Dial you have already mentioned). Then rinse it thoroughly with water. Then put a little antibacterial ointment, like Bacitracin or Neosporin, on it. Cover it LOOSELY -- a large band-aid should be fine -- so that piercing won't get caught on your clothing and get irritated further. Don't touch it except to clean it. If it doesn't look better in a 2-3 days, see a doctor.

Mine did this too. Wash your belly button with the dial soap twice a day and also get some Epsom's salt mix it in a cup with warm water and hold it over your belly button for like a minute or so (twice and day) Keep applying neosporin (not sure how it's spelled lol) constantly. It will get better. Gotta keep it clean

It's infected! The pink is your body's reaction to the infection as it tries to fight it off.

Avoid tight clothing, any contact over your new peircing. Meanwhile, cleanse with a solution of sea salt and water twice a day. Do not use peroxide, as this will dry the area and damage the skin around the peircing possibly forcing your body to reject it and force the peircing out.

Best of luck!

You have an infection.

You should be using an antibacterial soap, and cleaning twice a day with Bactine.

make a solution of 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and 4 oz of water in a glass. Invert the glass so that it makes a seal with your skin over your belly button. Soak it like this for 15 minutes everyday for the first 6 weeks.

Use a sea-salt soak. It worked best for mine. Find a shot glass (one that you wont want to use again) Use 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and fill glass 3/4 with warm water, lean over, place shot glass over belly button, lay down on your back and let soak for 3 minutes. Do this 3 times a day for a week and it should be as good as new.

It sounds like you have an infection of that pierced area. Try getting some Neosporin and use that on the piercing area. If it does not clear up in 24 hours, go to a doctor.
Keep that area dry also.

It's infected, dear! Get some hydrogen peroxide and either a q-tip or a cotton ball. Do this 3 - 4 times a day and let it sizzle.

Sounds like you got a nice infection.

Hydrogen Peroxide should help but can dry out the skin slowing the healing.

A visit to the doctor would be advised if it doesn't clear up soon.

Sounds to me like it is infected. This happened to my daughter and she kept trying to clean it and took antibiotics.
Still the problem persisted. FINALLY she had the piercing pull out and only then did it start to heal up.
Turns out she was allergic to the metal in the stud and nothing she could have done would have healed it.
Maybe you should have it pulled out and heal it and start again. and then you too will find the second one infects because you are allergic....
