In WOW I play a mage character, so am not big on the ins and outs of melee combat. My question is, do any stats (agility perhaps) affect how often a weapon procs with, say, fiery enchant? Is it completely random or can I improve stats to make it go off more often?

Yeah, my mage is hooked up with pretty much only intellect. I made a new rogue and gave him a level 6 dagger with fiery (LOL!) and then when he hit 10 and obtained dual wield I gave him a level 10 dagger with fiery in his main hand and the level 6 fiery in his offhand. He puts out a lot of damage. Although that extra damage has also made me cocky with him so he gets in over his head a lot and dies. I was just wondering if I increase his agility if the proc will go off more, because I know that's the way it was in Everquest...I think it was higher dexterity meant higher chance of proc'ing. Wasn't sure if it was similar here.

That is good advice for a mage though, thanks. =)

Why would I put fiery on a worthless weapon? /shrug

Because I can. Because I like running around in stealth with two flaming daggers that don't give me away (novelty). Because I kill things pretty fast and I'm being impatient for once, LOL.

For a rogue, higher Agility will not affect how often a weapon procs, it will affect how often he crits though. So a higher agility will help a rogue out a great deal, just not with your fiery enchant (on a level 6 dagger?!?!, you need therapy)

No stats will increase your chance to have a weapon enchant proc Weapons/Enchants have a set, Proc Per Minute (PPM) rate at which they will proc. If you are using both off and main hand weapons with fiery enchants on each, I'm sure you will notice both proc'ing quite often. However, I wonder why you have bother to place a fiery enchant on such a worthless weapon. As a rogue, you are very dependent on the weapons you carry, more-so than anything else.

Regardless, what is done, is done. I also recommend using swords for leveling, as they do more "white" damage. And you don't have to worry about getting behind your target.

i'm not sure about stats, but weapon speed would probably affect that because you're hitting more often. if you're a mage it would probably happen more oftem with a dagger rather than a staff because daggers are fast weopons. however, as a mage you shouldn't be doing much meelee combat anyways and should save your money and spend it on weapons with procs for other characters. even staffs that have melee procs are more for shaman anbd tauren rather than cloth wearers, cloth wearers should stick to fighting with wands since they look for items with +intellect rather than strength. the melee/offhand weapons should be used more for their +intellect/spell damage enchantsrather than DPS output during meelee combat

Most enchants are on a ppm-proc per minute basis and are not effected by weapon speed/agi etc

To my knowledge there isn't one. I'm pretty sure there's a bot that will do it for you but bots are a violation of blizzards usage contract that you agree to every time you sign in and your account will be banned if blizzards finds out.
