What is the method of culturing the bacteria Vibrio fischeri to use for inoculation?

It can be grown in Luria-Bertani Salt medium (LB supplemented with 2% NaCl, 0.3% glycerol and 50 mM tris pH 7.5) (ref 1)
or SWT medium (5g per liter ofTryptone 3g yeast extract 3 ml of glycerol, 700 ml of filtered seawater, and 300 ml of distilled water. (ref 2)

Isn't Vibrio fischeri where they get the LuxA gene for bioluminescence, like to make E. coli glow in the dark? If that's correct, then they isolate it from some deep sea fish; and I would assume it would be cultured in similar conditions as found in the host.
