I would say that a good old Marshall Half Stack would be the best. Of course, I think a Marshall Half Stack is the best amp for ANY guitar.

It depends upon what you're going to do with it. If you're just in the garage practicing, anything will be fine as long as your wattage is in the same neighborhood as the bassist and vocalist.

If you're gigging, you need at least a half-stack. I had a nice Marshall setup, but a friend of mine had a Carvin half-stack that sounded just as good and it didn't use tubes.

For practice- anything in the VOX valvetronics series. They are relativly inexpensive with good versatility and tone.
for recording and proformance- Look on e-bay or harmony central for Mike Whitney or Whitney amplification.
his hand wired tube amps are incredible!!! inexpensive for what they are, with unbeatable tone (tube only!)

It depends on how big you want to get. I have a Peavey Deuce that's plenty loud to practice with.
