No it doesn't, it hangs in the air even with filtration systems going. I live in California where it is all NON-smoking!

Absolutely not, not unless you call a smoke wall a protective barrier between the two sections.

Not unless there is a barrier between the sections... which there usually is not. I hate eating dinner and breathing in someone else's nasty 2nd hand smoke.

Only if the smoke is smart enough not to float outside of the "Smoking" section boundaries....Otherwise, be prepared to hold your nose while trying to enjoy your meal.
