Is being fun in the work place, bad? Is being funny,period considered to be bad, immature?

Having a sense of humour can get you far in the world. People will enjoy working with you and women find it sexy. I'd steer clear of racial slurs, womanizing jokes and generally offensive material. Also, some people aren't naturally funny. They have other great qualities. If quick wit doesn't come naturally to you, don't try too hard. You'll just look awkward socially.

Overall, I think humor is a good thing. However, trying too hard to be funny can get in the way of productivity, or interpersonal relationships. And of couse, humor can be hurtful, if it's at other people's expense. But in general, humor can get us through difficult times and help people get to know one another, which helps them work together. I would much rather work in an office where people occasionally tried too hard to be funny than in one where humor was consistently shot down.

I agree with the guy who answered before me.
You can be funny, but just know when to quit and don't take things too far. Otherwise, I think it's a great quality to have!

Being funny is what makes us who we are. I think it only makes a person more interesting and FUN. If no one was ever funny then we would all be boring.

"I'm funny how? I mean funny, like I'm a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh? I'm here to f***in' amuse you? What do you mean, funny? Funny how? How am I funny?"

well it's good to be funny. but you can't act funny every single place you go. there's certain times that you have to act serious and mature, even if it kills. but being funny is generally a good thing.
