I'm worried that trolls may have switched his real son for one of their own. He had to have a tail surgically removed.

Is his room shaped like the uder side of a bridge that billy goats cross over?
Does he hold shiny objects and call them "precious"?
Lastly, shine a flash-light on him and if he recoils into the darkness it's time to worry.

I know this doesn't apply to trolls, but just in case, i would:
1. keep him away from bright lights
2. never feed him after midnight
3. Never Ever get him wet.

Hold them underwater for 10 minutes if he is still breathing then it is a troll.
