Shell, there is no easy answer for this, in general the radio waves are blocked by the steel mesh and other metal in the building, the ideal situation is get an antenna outside the building, for most that may be difficult or impossible.

2nd best, assuming you want FM reception, get a receiver that has an external antenna connection, if there is only a built in antenna you won't be able to connect anything. Attach as much wire as you can to the antenna connector and run it around your cubicle or under your desk. The closer you can get any of that wire to a window the better off you'll be but I don't know your situation.

You can loop it around, it doesn't matter that much for the task at hand. Good luck

Best solution is if you can find a web cast of your fav stations on the Internet.

Otherwise, one guy in my office actually brought in some plain wire, tied one end to his antenna of the radio and the other up on the metal strips that hold up the suspended ceiling. He said it worked. Looked bad, but worked.

Get a new job... just kidding, you may have to move the radio around and/or adjust the antenna if supplied.

You don't state if your problem is AM or FM. the general trick is the antenna. FM, will normally work well, the AM is trickier. needs a out of building antenna.

You probably cant. You should ask around and see if your building has a tin roof. If you have a tin roof then your out of luck. And you get what your getting.
