I mean i just head some pathetic person say as part of his reasons why "The USA is better than the UK", he said, "Shoot me, oh no wait, you losers aren't aloud guns hAHAHAH".

I mean, wouldn't you prefer a country where there are no guns - unless you're a x-convict on the loose, the only guns in the UK, are at airports with anti-terror units, and guns on the street are illegally imported, Has this person no knowledge of the high guncrime rates in the US, that people can easily have their heads blown off on the street, well that pathetic person has let down americans, put it this way, a society without guns is better, better than a place where you can get a gun when your 16 WITHOUT A LISCENCE (some states), You don't need a gun if your enemy hasn't one, so this un-educated person doesn't know that a place without guns is better - for normal civilised people like me, maybe not for people who escaped from prison!

Sorry to steal this quote but
"Guns dont kill, people do"
So I am guessing while your country doesnt allow guns then your fine citizens there just find other means to kill or mame people.
I have a gun and Im not a criminal. I have never shot anyone but can blow a hole in a watermelon fairly well. I think if some asshole comes to break into my house and take my kids, at the end of the day I would be glad I had a gun.
I think maybe it lies within our freedom to bear arms.

What do you mean, "You don't need a gun if your enemy hasn't one". That is when it makes the most sense to get a gun. If you are a criminal and you know that your victims are prohibited to have guns then having a gun gives you an advantage.

Guns may not be easy to obtain in the UK but you can find them. It does not take too much of a machine shop to make one. You can never really prohibit them because the criminals will always find a way to get them. All you will be doing is taking the guns away from people who were not going to commit crimes.

IIts a fair question. Although your facts about gun availablility are not right. you cant buy a gun unless your 21. although you can have one at a younger age while hunting in some circumstances.

There really isnt a way to create a gun free society in the USA at this point. there is a vast amount of unregistered guns circulating.
Even if they quit sellin guns altogehter. And confiscated all registered guns. There would still be multiple millions of guns in circulation.

Yes It would be nice if an altercation didnt end up in a gun shot and instead it was a fistfight.

And while you dont have many gun crimes in the UK, violent crime sure isnt a rare thing there is it?? theres plenty of violent crime in the UK.

Actually, I prefer a country where I am allowed to defend myself against a criminal with a gun. Otherwise, you're just a sitting duck waiting to be shot.

Your premise is flawed as you are attempting to assume that if guns are outlawed no one will have them. The truth is that if guns are outlawed only outlaws will have them.

You realize that only criminals use guns to harm other people, right? These are the same people that will commit crime NO MATTER WHAT the laws say. Outlawing guns (which are allowed in our Constitution) is just another small piece of the destruction of the American Way.

No one is forcing you to own a gun. No one will even confront you with a gun -- until you meet a criminal. I cannot understand people who honestly believe that simply making guns illegal will solve the problem. There are plenty of things that are illegal that still happen including: drugs, rape, murder, robbery, assault, etc. Simply "outlawing" them has not stopped people from doing them.

Your issue is with CRIMINALS, not with guns.

There would be far less crime if everybody was required to be armed. Sure there would be a few hot-heads who would blast each other, but would you burglarize a store or bank knowing that everyone has a gun, inside and ourside the store or bank ?
How do you know that your enemy doesn't have a gun ? Just because it's unlawful doesn't mean nobody has one on him.
Drugs are unlawful. Does that mean that there are no illegal drugs anywhere ?
Maybe uneducated people don't know as much as you, but they do know how to spell license.

This is one thing for sure, you won't beable to convince us of.. For one thing don't believe everything you see on T.V. // Everyone thinks that theres peoples heads being blown off and people being shot left and right all the time here... When none of that is true. For all the years I've been alive, I haven't seen one person get shot, or even heard a gun shot.. So worry about your own country. We like it the American way here, since it is America.

I watched a show (how accurate I'm not sure) but it stated gun crimes where higher where violence was shown and viewed more by the people of that area. That it had nothing to do with guns. This made sense to me. So if this is true it really was stating that guns laws and ownership had little to do with gun crimes, the exposure to violence was the key. In that case lets do something about violence because I'm not happy at all about gun crimes.

Of course no one is happy with 'gun crime'. But I am glad we at least have the right to defend ourselves with guns. I mean, if you ban guns, do you think a criminal, who already doesn't care about the laws, will turn his in? No. It just means YOU will be unarmed. The lack of guns actually causes more crimes. Look at the crime rates for home break in's in the UK vs the US. Criminals have a greater fear of getting shot if they think there is an armed law abiding citizen around.

I wouldn't prefer a country where the only people who have guns are the people who are law breakers.

Tell me what is the ratio of gun owners in the UK amongst law abiding citizens, and criminals.

Guns are an absolute necessity. Americans have a constitutional right to bear arms and it is critical that right be protected. Time and circumstance has proven the need for this cherished right.
