Well another HOF vote came and went and Goose Gossage didn't get in. Bruce Sutter got in, why not Goose?

It has a great deal to do with the 540 members of the baseball writers association. A good number of them, although still active members, have not attended a baseball game in many years. Some are so out of touch with the game they have been noted to vote for players clearly not worthy of the HOF. At any rate, Goose Gossage received a little more than 71% of the vote leaving him 21 votes short of membership.

The answer is pretty clear. The baseball writers association needs to clean up its act and can some of the none participants. This non sense that they have their finger on the pulse of baseball is ridiculous.

Gossage should have been voted into the hall a long time ago. Hopefully next year he'll make it.

I think he should get in. I agree that if Sutter is in, why not Goose? He may get in next year since his vote total is getting closer. It will be a matter of time. Gossage was a more dominating closer than Sutter. What can I tell you. The baseball writers are morons who are losing credibility very quickly.

I thought Goose should have gotten in before Sutter, but he got over 71% this year, so he should finally break through next year.

Once you're in, nobody cares how long it took you to get in. Ask Don Sutton and Tony Perez.

There are Sportswriters who hate the Yankees and anyone who played for them.Goose was as good as Sutter or better. His numbers speak for themselves. In the days when a close pitched 5 innings he was the best. No doubt.

I think the Goose deserves it and I believe he was a more dominating closer than Sutter too!

He missed by only 21 votes. I cant see why anyone would not vote for him. He was a great pitcher in his time and deserves some respect.

Because he didn't get enough votes from those electing the players to the Hall. Simple as that.

Chow!!

SUTTER - HE SAVED 300 GAMES IN 12 YRS WITH 1 WS CHAMPIONSHIP. RETIRED DUE TO INJURY.

GOSSAGE - HE SAVED 310 GAMES IN 23 YRS WITH 3 WS APPEARANCES AND 1 WS CHAMPIONSHIP.

GOOSE MAY GET IN NEXT YEAR.

He should make it next year when the only new major candidate is Tim Raines.
