John Prescott was also the politician who - when an egg was thrown at him from the crowd, and despite a large number of police escorts standing around him - took an amazing left hook at the egg thrower in front of all the TV cameras. We like our politicians a bit more rough and ready than the star spangled, tan glossed, whitened teeth glamour boys which are demanded in the USA.

There would be plenty of competition for this title, but not for the title of New Labour's biggest handicap - he wins that hands down!

He should be the next Prime Minister. He acts directly, without fudge or flounder. He is certailnly more Labour than Blair or Brown's sycophants.
