A "GBP" is a British Pound, or Pound Sterling, the currency of the United Kingdom. Currently, 1 British pound = 1.93 U.S. dollars, and "the other" popular search engine will automatically perform a currency conversion for you if you type "xxx GBP in dollars" into it; alas Yahoo doesn't seem to understand this. http://xe.com/ will also perform conversions for you, and has a chart -- the number you want is the 2nd row (currency TO U.S. dollars) third column. A good rule of thumb that's been reasonably accurate for at least two or three years is that you can multiply the number of pounds by 2 to get U.S. dollars; so if the price were 17 GBP, it'd be roughly $34.00 US (which is fairly close to the real value, $32.86). Keep in mind that international currency markets can sometimes move unexpectedly, so you won't know the exact price in U.S. dollars until after either PayPal or your bank has performed the conversion.

I'm afraid dress sizes are beyond me, except that I know they tend not to be entirely consistent within the U.S.

Since the item location is obviously in Great Britain, couldnt you deduce that the currency was the one used there. It doesnt matter because Ebay converts the price to your currency on your country site.
